Private Membership Club Agreement

A safe online space for authentic expression and creative collaboration.

We are offering the PureGold server as a Private Membership Club. This allows us to be sovereign in terms of how we organise, and keep financial contributions in the realm of private transactions. Operating in the private means relating to each other simply as men and women, rather than via the titles, obligations and identities of the Legal Society system. (LINK to Knowledge share). By joining the server you agree to the private membership club agreement – please read thoroughly below:

The PureGold Server provides a protective container outside the mainstream data surveillance space. It has been built from the bottom up, with independent hardware and open source software, which means the server is truly private. Choosing to host your internet usage with the PureGold Server means your data resides outside the realm of mainstream data harvesting and trading, and you step out of contributing to all that is implicit in that mainstream system.

The invitation envisages a grouping around common purpose: coming together to share the cost, infrastructure and generative nature of this independent on-line space. We are inviting those whose offerings contribute to a world where Nature, people and the amazing gifts of this planet are enhanced and honoured – creating well-being and thrival, where no harm is inflicted or sanctioned and through whom new collaborative systems are being found, offered, promoted and developed that honour our interconnectedness with all of life.

This agreement is always available to view as a shared file on the server.

  • Every member agrees to respect and uphold the values of the PureGold Server Space:
    • Foundational premise – grounding a new way with tech – with consent, clarity, no harm, privacy and freedom: the essence of the server platform itself becomes stronger through our attentive usage and interaction. As we do things differently: how can we use digital technology as an ongoing positive contribution to our future? What we are doing here radiates out into the field of communication and cooperation at large.
    • Core values – trust, truth, transparency, togetherness, care, community, sharing, collaboration and co-operation, peace, each honouring our own true source – the essence of what we wish to share is at the core of what is supported.
  • The server will provide: Private email (capacity to send approx 1000 per month each), file storage (250GB each) and sharing, video conferencing and messaging, calendar, contacts and online collaborative documents. Also, computing capacity hardware, software, security maintenance, software updates, regular backups.
  • Members agree to maintain an awareness of the shared nature of the server, and, consideration regarding personal usage and best practice. There will be a ‘best practice’ shared file accessible to members. These are the key areas to be aware of and agree to:
    • Recorded conference calls. There is limited capacity for recording calls so we will have a shared calendar to book in any video calls you wish to record. When you want to have a recorded call, please check the calendar and make sure it does not happen in parallel with another call that is being recorded.
    • Mailing lists. Mailing list protocol: if you have a mailing list, we ask that you use a mailing list provider, such as Mailchimp, using their default setting of sending from their mail server. This will help prevent our server from being identified as a potential spammer which would mean all our out-going emails would be identified as spam.
    • Conference calls open to guests and file sharing. When inviting guests i.e. people who are not members of the server, to take part in a Talk chat or conference call, and, when sharing files with guests, you will automatically be asked to set a password for them to have access to the call or file.
    • Sharing large files with public access. We ask you not to upload large files and share widely as this could potentially use the whole bandwidth of the server and limit other members’ capacity to use it e.g., uploading a movie to your folder and sharing with hundreds of people.
    • Use safe and complicated account passwords. Use passwords that are not guessable, and have a complexity, for example a series of random characters mixed with symbols and numbers. If one account is hacked, the hacker can then potentially access the whole server and everybody’s accounts would be vulnerable.
    • Admin Protocol & Security. Admins will never ask you to reveal your private passwords. If you receive such a request please do not reply, and let one of the core group know.
    • Data access. Data is on private storage under the name of PureGold. Admins have access, but will only use this in cases of technical emergency with your consent, and/or at your request for assistance with something technical eg you receive an error message.
    • Hacking or spamming. This will not be tolerated – and the account will be closed (see process for closure below).
  • The monthly minimum membership donation is a contribution towards the costs involved in the operation and maintenance of the server and includes having an account. It is a transaction in the private. See Payment Agreement below.
  • Terms and Conditions regarding notice of leaving.
    • Process for leaving voluntarily.
      • If you wish to close your account you will need to contact one of the core group members. No monthly subscription refunds will be given. You will need to stop your monthly contribution.
      • Before closing your account make sure you have transferred all your files, personal contacts and events, emails and all the information stored in PureGold server to another place. Upon removing your account all the information will be deleted.
    • Process for closure of an account, upon contravention of the Agreement;
      • The core group reserves the right to suspend and even close the account of any member upon contravention of the agreement and core values. There will be a notice and grace period to allow us to investigate what has happened and, if necessary, give time for removal of personal files and information from the system before an account is closed.
  • Membership engagement
    • Introduction, orientation, and ongoing signposting. Your welcome email will include information regarding orientation and admin and set-up links, plus links to ‘best practice’ guide, ‘how to’ guide (e.g., setting up a password protected call, sharing documents, etc).
    • Decision making. The core group is responsible for maintaining on-going operation. The core group will involve membership in any decisions that could significantly alter their interaction with the server, or which involve potential changes to the agreement. This may be communicated via our newsletter, shared files, Telegram channel or via our quarterly (or if necessary, extraordinary) gatherings.
    • Quarterly membership gathering. With the PureGold Server being founded in friendships and conversations around things that matter to our hearts, and, emerging from our shared integral desire to communicate in freedom and with respect for privacy, our quarterly membership gatherings are moments of connecting as an online community, being in the living inquiry of what is possible as we move to the next octave of fresh, finer inter-relationship and togetherness, and exploring what changes using the server is bringing into our lives.
  • Server functionality and risk.
    • Functionality. To the best of our ability we will keep the server running and functioning at all times, but we cannot take responsibility for changes in the wider tech landscape in the background that may impact the server functionality.
    • Telegram channel and upgrades. We have an information channel on Telegram we ask all members to join so that admin can communicate what is happening in the event of the server being temporarily inaccessible: this will include regular server updates when the service may be disrupted for 5-10 minutes.

Financial agreement:

I understand that this transaction is private*, between i: [a woman/man] Your Name, and the woman: Our Name, on behalf of the PureGold Server core group. The core group have an agreement whereby the account is in the name of Our Name, and all incoming and outgoing monies are tracked by the core group via payment notifications being shared to our admin email address.

The monthly minimum membership of €16 is a recurring contribution towards the shared costs involved in the operation and maintenance of the server: each membership has one account on the PureGold Server, which is set up with a one-off membership joining contribution of €11.

If you wish to give more from your heart to further support the server we are grateful: this could take the form of a higher monthly contribution, or additional donations in acknowledgment of the work it has taken to bring forth this space, and to support it’s on-going thriving and evolution.

All contributions are non-refundable.

*An exchange in the private is between men and women, rather than via the titles, obligations and identities of the Legal Society system. (LINK to Knowledge share).

Finally, as part of becoming a member of the PureGold server, you will need to confirm your agreement to the above. This step comes after submitting your ‘Request to Join’.
